After treading (and eeeek, spilling) on one of Bellingham artist Dale Gottlieb's limited edition Tibetan art rugs for many years, I decided it was high time to get it cleaned. As it is one of my most precious possessions, I was a bit nervous about letting it out of my sight. Visions of the clean lines and vibrant colors blurring and bleeding willy nilly into each other danced through my head. I had heard the horror stories. But i needn't have worried. First off, I thought I was going to have to try to stuff it into my car and drive it somewhere to be cleaned with one of those pink warning flags trailing off the back of my car, worrying all the while that I didn't secure it properly. But no..... Bellingham Steam Sweepers showed up at my door to retrieve my rug and I immediately knew I was in good hands. Not only were they friendly (and funny) but they obviously knew their stuff. They did a beautiful and careful job cleaning it and delivered it back to me a week later (I even got help moving the couch and rolling it out in the living room). And so, I would highly recommend Steam Sweepers for your precious oriental rugs!
I just moved to Standwood from Pennsylvania last Fall so I wanted my fine oriental hand woven wool rugs cleaned up for my new condo. I arranged with Art Thomas of Steam Sweepers to pick up my carpets when they were making other deliveries way South of Bellingham. They were able to submerge all the carpets for a thorough cleaning. All five rugs now look clean and bright. The rugs were returned in a timely fashion and under the original estimate because I miscalculated their size. I also appreciated Art's advice on how to maintain them between cleanings.
In the past, I have used multiple carpet cleaning services. But since I have done business with Steam Sweepers I know I'll continue to use them in the future. They are a very honest, reliable, and personable business. Adam did a tremendous job. He was able to explain his work process thoroughly and let me know exactly what kind of results I could expect. He was able to get all of the spots out, and my carpets now look amazing! The outcome was just what he said it would be. My carpets have never looked better, and I couldn't be more satisfied. I also had an area rug cleaned which looks better than I ever thought it could! They also picked it up and dropped it off to me for no extra cost which was fantastic. We've been with Steam Sweepers Carpet Cleaning since 2007. We had used them before, and this time we had them do two different jobs. They cleaned some wall-to-wall carpeting on the second floor of our house one day, and we had them pick up an area rug to have it cleaned and retured for the other job. They have done excellent work on both. In particular, the employee who did the wall-to-wall carpeting was very thorough. It was late afternoon but he worked as long as he needed to, and did a very thorough job. he was very courteous and apologetic that he was there around dinnertime (which we didn't mind).
Originally we had seen an ad by Steam Sweepers Carpet Cleaning and it had a coupon. The last jobs were a little more expensive than I thought they were going to be. Maybe get the pricing ahead of time. Ask if there are any coupons out there or any sales that are about to start.
Overall, Steam Sweepers was very complete, thorough, and courteous. They provided excellent service and were dependable. I would definitley recommend Steam Sweepers Carpet Cleaning!

Steam Sweeper cleaned them before the listing began, and after the home sold, as a welcome to the appreciated new buyer. Art's posse has since renewed an aging rust colored wall-to-wall shag (Austin Powers era?), a wonderful year old beige berber, and now, a very old gorgeous Pakistani silk and wool hand-woven runner. He even taught me how to reknot the fringes. Whether a modest old carpet, or a treasured show-stopper old (antique) rug, you'll get great results with Steam Sweeper. My wife found out about Steam Sweepers Carpet Cleaning LLC and they were the only rug cleaning company in Bellingham Washington. Our rugs needed to be cleaned and we called them. I had inherited a beautiful old, hand-woven Persian rug from my mother that used to be in my grandparents home. It's huge, nine feet by eleven feet, and I wanted to have it cleaned. I had heard about Steam Sweepers Carpet Cleaning so I gave them a call. I think it is very important that they arrived on time to pick up and drop off my carpets. I had two smaller rugs cleaned as well. The final results were excellent! I would like to mention that he helped me move my furniture to get the carpets up and then again to put them down, I really appreciated that! I had a Chinese wool rug that was stained in a flood and I took it to Steam Sweepers Carpet Cleaning. I had never heard of them before. They were able to get a lot of the stain out. I was very impressed, and asked Art about handling silk rugs.
I have a Chinese silk rug that needed to be lovingly handled, and so I took it to Steam Sweepers. They did an absolutley exquisite job. He did everything he could do to the rug that wouldn't risk threatening the fibers.
I was really pleased with what he could do for the rugs, and that he aknowleged the limits of what could be done as well. He also told me where to go if I did want to get a harsher, and potentially hazardous treatment.
He realldy did a mervelous job on the silk rug, and I have recommended everyone I know with a rug to Steam Sweepers. The price was wonderful, and it was incredible value for the goods received. The service was also fast, and I was incredibly please with the work Art did.
I called Art to advise me about two large oriental rugs that were my grandmother's. They are probably 60 years old, and have some wear, but have a great deal of meaning for me. I'm sure its been at least 10 years since they were cleaned. He brought them back this morning, and they look fantastic! The colors are vibrant and bright and the pile is soft to the touch. What I thought was age and wear was in fact dirt and dust in addition to wear. I can recommend Art for any rug, even old and fragile ones.... he handles them with care.
