Rug Cleaning, Repair, & Protection Services in Bellingham

Olivia was a first time customer that recently scheduled a pick up and cleaning for her beautiful Persian Sarouk rug. We pick up rugs weekly throughout Whatcom and Skagit Counties, which worked out great with Olivia's schedule. Our immersion washing process brought out renewed vibrancy to the colors of the rug. The effect of the deep blue against the bright orange border and center motif is beautiful. Olivia was not only happy with the results but also the one-week turnaround time. Within a week we were able to pick up, thoroughly wash, hand brush (as you can see in the picture), properly dry, and deliver her clean Sarouk rug back to Olivia's home! 

Loretta was in the process of moving and wanted to make sure her Persian Sarouk rug was clean before moving it into her new home. Moving can be stressful, fortunately for Loretta, our convenient pick up and delivery service gave her one less thing to worry about. Our 1-2 week turnaround time worked out perfectly for Loretta's schedule, we were able to pick up the dirty area rug from her old house and deliver her now clean rug to her new house! Loretta's beautiful Sarouk rug looked great in her new home.

A closer look at our tea wash process! Tea washing involves intentionally dying a rug or a rug's fringe to give the rug a more antique appearance. Some rugs are designed to look older than they actually are and having bright white fringe could ruin the antique look. Recently, we were able to help our returning customer, Owen, by tea washing the fringe of his wool rug. As you can see from the pictures, when done properly tea washing requires great attention to detail. We hand paint the tea washing dyes onto the fringe before rinsing to reveal the lovely antique coloring!

Pet accidents happen! Lisa is a returning customer who knows first-hand that sometimes these accidents can happen on our nice wool rugs. Aside from the obvious unpleasant smells caused by pet accidents, pet urine can also cause dye bleeding in rugs . It is crucial to address accidents as soon as possible to minimize potential permanent damage to the rug. Thankfully, Lisa called our team of rug experts right away. We were able to offer some immediate steps Lisa could take from home before bringing her Karastan rug into our facility for proper washing. Lisa was so happy with our results (especially our guaranteed odor removal!) that she sent us this picture of her cute furry friend with her now clean rug!

We love the bright colors in Gretchen's hand knotted wool rug! We ensure vibrant colors, like those in Gretchen's rug, stay crisp and bright by starting our rug washing process with a colorfast check. This is a test that allows us to properly assess the risk of dye bleeding and take any needed precautions before washing. Gretchen appreciated the extra care and attention that we put into her rug and was happy with the results!

A closer look at our rug washing process! Mike, one of our awesome rug technicians is pictured here washing a Persian Gabbeh rug brought in by returning customer, Kelly. We hand wash rugs at our wash plant using a cold water immersion process that provides the deepest and most thorough clean possible. We are the only rug cleaners north of Seattle to offer this specialized service for fine wool and synthetic rugs. After washing, we brush each rug by hand as we perform our final inspection.  Kelly has had other rugs washed at our facility before and knew she could expect great results. We were happy to deliver another job well done!

Wilma was a first time customer, local to Bellingham. Wilma brought us her Nepalese rug, hoping to get it washed before she had company over. We were able to provide out quality washing results within our 1-2 week turnaround time, leaving plenty of time for Wilma to prepare for her houseguests! As a bonus, Wilma saved 20% on washing by bringing her rug into our shop, rather than using our pick up and delivery service. We look forward to working with Wilma again!

The pictured Shiraz rug was brought in by returning customer, Peter! Peter is local to Bellingham, just like Steam Sweepers, and has been bringing his rugs to us for years. Recently, Peter dropped a Shiraz rug for washing. Shiraz rugs share a name with the Iranian city that they come from. These hand-knotted wool rugs require regular washing to maintain their beauty and bright colors. Peter was once again very happy with the results of our washing process!

Katie is a long-time returning customer, it is always a pleasure working with her. We love the dragon and phoenix motifs that are prominently featured on the Tibetan rug Katie brought in. The bright colors of the creatures stand out against the gray background. Maintaining a regular washing schedule every 1-3 years has kept Katie's rug vibrant! 

Larry was a first time customer, local to Bellingham! Larry has owned his Bokhara rug for year and had never had it washed before. We were happy to accept the challenge! Our immersion washing process cleans the deep fibers of rugs, making it possible to get years-old dirt, dust, and grim out of a rug.
