About Sumner Ottman:

Although I am the newest member to the Steam Sweepers team, starting in 2022, I have known
from the beginning that Steam Sweepers is a company I am proud to be a part of. My goal as
the part-time office administrator is to uphold the company values by providing customers with
the seamless, quality service that they expect. I am grateful for the opportunity of working at a
small, local business that puts unparalleled care and attention into each rug and customer
interaction.
When I am not scheduling deliveries or reaching out to customers, you can find me spending
time with my loved ones, enjoying the amazing views that Bellingham has to offer and caring for
my cat, Jupiter!

I was very pleased with Steam Sweepers. They took my rug and got rid of the stains. The estimate was very close to the price I paid. They presented me with what I could expect to see afterwards and that the rug which had a kind of tea dye might be lighter in some places with cleaning. No surprises. Impeccable workmanship, and down-to-earth friendly service. I had three large area rugs cleaned by the ingenious water bath process and I don't know how I could possibly be more satisfied. The rugs are dark in color so I never really knew how dirty they were until I had them cleaned. It's like having brand new rugs! Steam Sweepers has been doing my carpets for over 20 years. Michael has been the man for the last several and always does an amazing job. Looks like new even though the carpet is as old as 20 years! I had a large area rug that had been given to me by a relative. It was old, and it had not been cleaned for quite some time. I wanted a carpet cleaning company that used the cold water immersion cleaning method, and I got on the internet to find one. The only company that used that method was Steam Sweepers LLC. I called them, and they picked the rug up. They brought it back when they finished, and they did a great job! It came out much better than I expected! They were very professional and efficient people!

Adam was amazing. He came to our house and asked several questions about how the rugs had been used. He gave us a detailed description of one rug we are hoping to sell. He quoted us 2 weeks for the turnaround, but he brought them back cleaned in about a week and a half. He took photos for us of the rug we are hoping to sell and he rolled it around a tube and wrapped it in plastic to prepare it for shipping. Would highly recommend Steam Sweepers. Steam Sweepers LLC cleaned five rugs for me and did a fantastic job! My rugs look better than when I purchased them. Four of my rugs are vintage wool and the colors came out clean and crisp. I am very pleased that none of the colors faded or ran. They really know what they are doing. I will recommend them to everyone who comments on my rugs. They are brighter than they were before and so soft. They use a chemical process that does not include optical cleaners and that was very important to me. They do full immersion rug cleaning and that is hard to find. Their website was very informative about the process they use and they were so easy to find. I looked at other companies online, but I chose Steam Sweepers LLC because the website was so detailed and when I called they took time to explain their cleaning process to me. They were extremely professional and prompt. The pickup and delivery were right on time.

Adam, one of the technicians, has carefully and thoroughly cleaned the carpet with great results. When finished I have no doubt the carpet has been cleaned as well as it can be. Seriously. Difficult spots are given extra attention, furnishings are carefully avoided, and it's all done with prompt and courteous attention to detail. I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with this company, and Adam in particular, who has cleaned our carpet several times, always with great results. I would highly recommend this company.

This antique, Turkmen Tekke rug was brought in by returning customer, Trent. Turkmen rugs are hand-knotted by artisans over a long period of time. This labor-intensive craft creates long-lasting, beautiful rugs. Tekke rugs are Turkmen rugs crafted specifically in the Tekke tribe, they can be recognized by their high knot density and symmetrical patterns. With treasured rugs like this, it is especially important that they are washed with the proper methods. Our immersion washing process is the only proper way to clean fine rugs like Trent's.

When storing rugs, we always recommend treating rugs with our moth preventative treatment and wrapping in Tyvek. The moth prevention will protect the rug from moth holes and the Tyvek will keep moisture away.
